Stock Pitch Competition 2020

The DeGroote Finance Association (DFA) welcomes you to our Annual Stock Pitch Competition. This competition is open to all universities and will be held on Saturday, February 29th at the Ted Rogers School of Management in Toronto. This is an opportunity to show off your skills in a competitive environment against top students across Ontario. We are proud to have the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, PCJ Investment Counsel Ltd. and CIBC Capital Markets as our primary sponsors for the event. You will have the chance to present your pitch to a judging panel made up of professionals from our panel and we will give our sponsors a compiled resume book of delegates from the competition! Prizes are as follows: 1st $1000, 2nd $600 and 3rd $400 (delegate fee is $20). At the end of the event, you will be able to network with our panel speakers as well as representatives from our primary sponsors. This is a great chance to network before summer recruitment starts! Competition Outline: -Teams of 3-4 are allowed to enter the competition from any university -Submit a completed presentation and copy of your resume(s) to by February 19th 11:59pm at the latest -Delegates must pitch a long equity investment idea that is on a North American exchange (greater than C$500M market capitalization) -Presentations must be less than (or equal to) 10 slides, this is not including an appendix -The following sections should be included: i) company overview ii) industry overview iii) investment theses iv) catalysts/risks v) valuation On the competition day, teams will have 10 minutes to present followed by a Q&A session If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at
